The Royal Oak Pub HO Scale
This is a nice little kit. The Royal Oak Pub is an eye-catching structure which will set an interesting scene in either town or country. With a footprint of only 15' x 30', you can add a detailed scene where you didn't think you had the space.
People were shorter even a hundred years ago, so duck when entering this cozy pub! The height to the eaves is only 15 feet, so don't bring the NBA team here after the game!
The authentic Tudor half-timbering is captivating. Every line on every timber has been drawn freehand, giving the frame a hand-hewn look. And though it looks complicated, the color is easily applied with fine-tipped markers (not included, but color recommendations are in the instructions). The etched lines prevent the marker from bleeding into the "stucco" areas.
In this kit, our fine windows and doors are part of the walls, simplifying construction, with no loss of detail. The diamond-paned windows on the upper floor are really breathtaking! The doors include board, bolt, and hinge detail. The etched lines allow you to color the windows and doors at a slight contrast to the timbers. Window glazing of Mylar/Acetate is included.
The random-slate roofing is a peel-and-stick applique. At the rear the upper window bay is "jettied", or hangs out past the main wall. In the front, the whole upper story hangs out over the lower, a design characteristic deriving from the narrow Medieval streets and lanes.
The chimney shows our fantastic attention to detail...the corners fit together in a scale brick-by-brick interlock, and the top features realistic "pots", or flues.
Interior corner posts and a ridge-top strip make this a sturdy assembled kit. The building will look wonderful lighted, since you will have no light leaks around the window frames.
The Royal Oak Pub is a delight to color and assemble, and gives you the fantastic detail and design that we are becoming known for, at a very low price.
