Hillside Contemporary         N Scale

Hillside10

Hillside15

The Hillside Contemporary is our first N scale release!
From the 1960's to the 1980's, Contemporary was the mainstream stylistic response to the earlier
works by architects such as Neutra or Wright. The clean lines of Contemporary houses make them
especially suitable for the mountains or the beach...no formal constraints for a vacation house!

This is a fun and easy kit to assemble in an evening. There's lots of detail like the etched siding and decks, and the finely cut railings. There are twin garage doors on the basement level. The front entrance is on the second level, so the house should be sited on a hillside, as pictured.

Color is easily applied using alcohol-based, fine-tipped markers (not supplied). The etched lines allow you to precisely color the boards and trim, without bleeding of the ink. The result is a wood-stained look authentic to the Contemporary style. Window glazing and peel-and-stick roof appliques are included.

This house will be a relaxing destination lakeside, in the mountains, or at the beach. A row of the these structures closely resembles the accommodations at ski resorts and beaches. If you model in HO scale, the Hillside Contemporary in N scale is a great choice for your background mountains, creating a forced perspective.
